Death investigation, Joyner

Police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman at Joyner, north of Brisbane this afternoon.

Shortly before 2pm, officers were called to a residence after the discovery and a crime scene declared.

An Investigation Centre has been established at Petrie Police Station.

There is no further information available at this stage.

Investigations continue.

Update 1: South Brisbane detectives are expected to travel to New South Wales to seek the extradition of man charged with a double homicide at Joyner.

A man and woman, both aged 59, were located deceased at their Joyner home yesterday afternoon.

A 31-year-old Joyner man was arrested by New South Wales police at Berowra around 6.30pm yesterday (May 17).

He was arrested and charged by virtue of Queensland Arrest Warrant for two count of murder (domestic violence offence) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Update 3: Police are appealing for public assistance as investigations into a double homicide at Joyner continue.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Todds and Gordon Crossing roads between 3pm and 6:30pm on Saturday, May 16, to come forward.

Anyone with information can attend a Command Post which will be established at Wright Reserve between 3pm and 6:30pm on Saturday, May 23.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A 31-year-old man arrested in relation to the incident is due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrate Court tomorrow.

Update 4: A 31-year-old man has been charged with an additional offence of attempted arson as investigations continue into a double homicide at Joyner.

The matter will be mentioned in Pine Rivers Magistrate Court on July 13 after the man appeared today for two counts of murder (domestic violence offence) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle offences.

Investigators continue to appeal for anyone who was in the vicinity of Todds and Gordon Crossing roads between 3pm and 6:30pm on Saturday, May 16, to come forward.

Anyone with information can attend a Command Post which will be established at Wright Reserve between 3pm and 6:30pm on Saturday, May 23.
