Serious assault, Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast detectives have released a photo of a vehicle as part of an investigation into a serious assault at Kiamba yesterday.

Around 4pm a 41-year-old man entered a black BMW 320i occupied by a man and woman known to him.

Shortly afterwards the three got out of the vehicle on Upper Hutton Road in Kiamba.
The driver threatened the man, pointing a gun at him.

A short scuffle ensued, before the firearm went off and the driver stabbed the man in the left arm with a knife.

The pair stole the man’s phone, watch and other personal items before they fled in the BMW.

The car is registered to a Sunshine Coast address and was seen in Maroochydore this morning.

The man is described as Caucasian, average build with black hair, while the woman is of a dark complexion and of an average build.

Anyone who may have seen the pair, or the BMW are urged not to approach and contact police.

Update: Police have now located the BMW. The media and public are thanked for their assistance.

Officers are still appealing for assistance to locate a man described as Caucasian, with an average build with black hair and a woman of a dark complexion and an average build.

Update 1: Sunshine Coast detectives have released an image of a teenager they believe can assist with a serious assault investigation.

On Monday, just after 4pm (May 18) a 41-year-old man was stabbed at Kiamba.

Police want to speak with the boy pictured, who is understood to have been travelling in a black BMW.

The sedan was located in Alexandra Headlands yesterday (May 19).

He is described as Caucasian, around 180cm tall, of an average build with black hair and brown eyes.

The teenager is also believed to be accompanied by a woman in her early 20’s, who is described as of a dark complexion, around 165cm tall, of a thin build, has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who may have seen the pair is urged not to approach them and contact police.

Update 2: Sunshine Coast detectives have charged a 25-year-old woman following an investigation into a serious assault at Kiamba on Monday (May 18).

A 25-year-old Bellmere woman was charged with deprivation of liberty, acts intended to maim, wounding, robbery in company whilst armed, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed and unlawful possession of a weapon.

She is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow (May 23).
