Backlash over proposed Narangba Servo

Narangba locals are looking at the proposal issued for a service station to be built on a notoriously dangerous intersection and blind corner in disbelief.

The plans filed on Thursday the 25th of June by Start Property Holdings Pty Ltd show the only entry point to be accessed via Northbound traffic, with no appropriate places to preform a safe u-turn. Traffic exiting the O’Mara Road or Travelling along Oakey Flat Road will not be able to access the Service Station proposed site safely.

The property size of 1929m2 includes a Koala habitat of 500m2, nearly a quarter of the development will need to be cleared of vegetation and destroy the already limited living area of the resident Koala population.

While residents seem happy of the idea of a secondary service station in the area, where the only option they have is a BP only a 2 minute drive down the same road with safer access, a consistent “wrong location” response is being echoed online.
